7 Steps To Achieving Joint Venture Projects

JVing is an important part of business. But where do you start and how do you find them. Knowing these answers and being prepared is a key to success.

Joint Ventures are considered an essential part of growing your business and becoming successful. However, many people looks at JV’s as a fearful or overwhelming idea. If you follow some steps and have some preparations together then you can move forward confidently.

First, before approaching anyone, do you have your business set up and do you know what you want to do a joint venture on. Many of the people that you approach may already be receiving several offers, so preparation is the key.

Then decide on who you want to have JV’s with. If you are not sure, you can do some research to help you find some potential people. The details on searching can be an article in its self, but to highlight you can:
Look at what your business is; what other businesses would complement yours. Then search the web for them. You can also ask around at forums and newsgroups and ask for referrals. Once you have done that carefully, pick a handful that you would like to try.

Look at their websites. Ask yourself, what is it about them that I like and why would I want to do business with them. What about their site stands out for me and that I could comment on.

Is there a report or course that I could try get to know them better. Is there a product that I can try? Is this even the right person for my JV? When you understand the other person, not only will it help you approach them, you will also be able to know if indeed you could recommend them to your list.

Then decide which of them you would want to work with. Now you can approach them. Think about what your goal is for the JV. Yes, there are the thousands of dollars it can bring, the free advertising and leveraging each other’s resources, but what is the ultimate goal for each JV.

What would your answer be when the potential JV partners says, "So, what do you have in mind?" Is this JV about writing and promoting a book, starting a contest, creating a product or sharing advertising costs, just to name a few.

While you are thinking about your answer, you need to realize that the potential JV partner is thinking, WIIFM. (What’s in it for me).

Why should he or she pick you over (or as well as) the other people that are also approaching them. Think about how this will help them. Do you have a large list, or contacts that they may want? Do you have stats to show how your plan will help them?

If they say no, and some will for many reasons, go on. They may already have too many things on the go right now. Ask if you can contact them in the future.

There are also different rules and viewpoints on the initial contact. I have heard some people say to phone, as they get so many emails that the call would stand out. Others have said, don’t presume to phone and interrupt them when you haven’t already met them.

There is a combination of things that you could try. For example, send an email that you wish to call. Send a letter via the post office. I have even seen people send requests by an express service and have included a number of different trinkets, samples and attention getters. You may need to experiment, as each person is different.

Ultimately, I believe that you should show that you have taken the time to get to know them on some level and know what their products are. When people feel that you respect them and their product or service, this can go a lot farther than being seen as just a source of your revenue.

Ultimately, plan, prepare and then take action and you will find yourself not only attracting great JV partners but also making good friends along the way.

"I’ve always found it very important to do your homework first and then talk."

5 Tips To Successful Joint Ventures

Posted by Aziz Devje Comments (0)

Plugin conçu par WPOptinForm

When businesses think of team building, business owners usually associate it with building their company’s internal workforce into a lean-mean fighting machine. Team building, however, should be extended to include external relationships such as those with other businesses. Enter joint ventures or JVs for short.

Joint ventures generally are business partnerships established between two or more parties (individuals, business groups, companies, corporations) for the purposes of expanding the business and achieving merits by joining forces and working as a team. The parties involved in joint venture agreements complement each other, leverage each other’s assets assets, compensate each other’s weaknesses, and at times equally share risks.

Less than 5% of businesses actually use joint ventures effectively and most don’t even use it at all. In order to get the most out of joint ventures correctly, multiple factors such as choosing who to partner with, approaching potential partners correctly, negotiating a win-win deal for all parties involved, and having a well-coordinated execution need to be taken into consideration.

There are several types of joint ventures. Big companies may join forces to become even more powerful and thus dominate the market, while small companies may team up to build a stronger presence in their market niche in order to fend off bigger, resource-rich companies. JVs can also be used to gain access into foreign markets. Foreign companies often form joint ventures with indigenous companies that are already present on the market, but lack capital or financing to truly take advantage of the market potential. Foreign companies can bring money, new technologies and competitive strategies into a joint venture deal, while benefiting from the relationships and the brand of the domestic company.

These complementary partnerships benefit all the businesses involved if set up correctly with the right partner. Here’s a powerful but simple example of a JV that many businesses can take advantage of to grow their small business fast. It is a highly efficient method of increasing business profits by teaming up with another partner whose business is non-competitive and offers a highly valuable asset, a highly responsive client list that would be interested in your products or services. By tapping into this hidden goldmine, small businesses can save thousands of dollars in marketing expense to reach their target clientele while achieving the goal of boosting the bottom line. The business offering the vehicle in which to reach these clientele, the client list, benefits from offering complementary products and services that it does not sell and makes a cut of the sales generated from marketing to this list.

Here are 5 tips for joint venture success:

- Choose your partners carefully. A joint venture has greater chance of being successful if partners have an excellent reputation. An essential component to good team building is having the right partners. They must be trustworthy and have a high level of integrity.

Joint ventures involve extensive team building effort because it is a relationship between two parties and if the relationship is to last, it must be nurtured and kept going. Both parties must be able to trust each other and deliver on each other’s promises. To find the right partner, perform solid market research and approach only businesses you would want to do business with long term. If you want to form a partnership with a certain company, make sure that its business practices are in-line with yours. It would be very difficult for you to form a reliable team with people who lack motivation or professionalism, so you should look for well-trained, open-minded potential partners.

- Know what to expect from the beginning of any JV relationship. Know from the start what your goals are, what you want to accomplish, and see if your goals are attuned with the partner. Each company should come up with a marketing plan and clearly specify what is expected from their potential partners.

Plan your strategy ahead of time and make sure you cover all the legal aspects stipulated in your joint venture contract, like resource availability and management, special allocations, mutual gains, deductions and income issues. Stick to the business development plan and establish new priorities and goals as you progress. By efficiently managing resources and by maintaining a good, competitive business policy, you will secure the longevity and the success of your business.

- Draft proposals like mini-sales letters. Compose a professional proposal letter explaining the advantages of the joint venture in a convincing way. Keep it short, clear, concise and coherent while briefly introducing your business and why they should do business with you. Remember to tune in to the radio station your prospective JV partner listens to, WIIFM or What’s In It For Me.

If you want to propose a joint venture to anyone you have to give them a really good reason why they should do it. Otherwise, they will most likely decline your proposal. Big, successful companies receive many joint venture offers so you have to stand out. You should educate them about the advantages and the benefits of choosing you over the others. If this partner happens to be a dream partner, stay persistent as persistence demonstrates sincerity and determination to make it work for the potential JV partner.

- Avoid shooting too high with your offers. If you are a smaller business, do not target your offer to a large company first as it will most likely be thrown away. Instead of aiming too high at this point, establish successful joint ventures with small companies in order to get noticed by the bigger, powerful ones. Establish a reputation as a solid business owner who knows how to turn joint ventures into gold for their partners. Businesses naturally gravitate towards successful businesses. Remember to toot your own horn by announcing JVs through press releases and/or articles in trade magazines. As your business expands, the competition will quickly become aware of your presence, and there is a chance that powerful companies might come up with proposals of joining forces with your company.

- Be honest and open with all business transactions always. Once you have negotiated the details of the joint venture, the actual work begins. In order to keep things going, a lot of trust, understanding and expertise are needed for ongoing team building on both sides. Maintain an open dialogue and always address issues upfront before it becomes a bigger problem that threatens to break up the partnership.

These are the basic rules for joint ventures and it is ultimately up to you to see whether a deal will be successful. Learn with each joint venture deal to improve on the next deal. Deals can only be made if you go after them. With lots of hard work, you’ll develop enough expertise to be a joint venture expert and take your business to the next level.

Data Entry Work At Home

Posted by Aziz Devje Comments (0)

This section of the market place seems to be the more popular of all. I believe it is because of two things. One is the earning potential and second is most people feel they have the skills and tools already to perform the task required.

The demand for work at home programs in general is on the rise mainly because people are looking for a way out of the day-to-day rat race. They either need extra money to pay the bills or just want to get rid of their JOB!

As a work at home web site owner I monitor the key phrases people are looking for and when I look in this arena I find searches like work from home data entry, data entry work at home, work from home data entry jobs, free work from home data entry, work at home data entry jobs, free data entry work at home and clerical data entry home work. These are just a few of the many data entry searches made.

Once I noticed the demand for this segment of the market I began my research to see what type of companies were available to fill the need. Boy was I surprised to find that many of them were SCAMS. They either had lack of training, support, poor communication with their customer base and more times in not did not deliver what they promised.

After much time I was able to narrow down the field to about 3-5 companies and that is what you will need to do to give yourself any chance for success in this arena. I'm happy to say I have referred people to these companies for over a year now and have been very happy with the results.

Don't be fooled by outlandish promises made. Some will say there people are making 20,000 monthly. Well even if that's true I found out it's an extremely small percentage of their customer base and most make much less. Having said that, there is good money to be made while working from home in the data entry field.

With the good companies they give you the training, support, leadership and step-by-step guidance to ensure you success. I also came to realize that all of the companies will have people who are unhappy. More times than not, people sign up thinking the money will start flowing in, having not put any effort in and get frustrated and quit. They will call the company a Scam and move on. You will have to work at home. No work no pay, so if you looking for something for nothing, this is the wrong field for you.

The equipment required is minimal. In fact if you reading this article you probably have most, if not all, of what you need. You do need to ensure you have some type of word processor with spell check.

The start up for a data entry program is very quick. You can be up and running in a matter of hours. This is why these programs are so popular.

$60,000 Mugging

Posted by Aziz Devje Comments (0)

I was referred to a prospective client recently that had their website redesigned. They paid $60,000 for a site that really does nothing for them. It is a simple brochure site that provides visitors nothing and it certainly does nothing to convert traffic into sales. Since all their budget went to design, they have no money left over to properly market the site. Mistake #1, don't pay $60,000 for a branding exercise.

A corporate website is about supporting the business. The beauty of the Internet is there is no guessing. You can measure pretty much anything. What are you trying to accomplish? Increase traffic? Generate leads? Increase sales? If it is yes to one of these questions, then a $60,000 investment should get you another $600,00 to your bottom-line? Can a brochure site deliver a 80-95% ROI?

Web design is a commodity today. The cost of design should represent about 25% of your total spend. Design costs are competitive today, so spending more than you have to should be the last thing you do. There are excellent open source Content Management Systems (CMS) that give you the power to manage your own content. The cost of the software is $0 to you. We recommend using either Plone or Joomla. Both of these platforms provide you with Web 2.0 compliant back-end at low cost for setup and maintenance.

The value in web design is working with companies that can properly market what you do. To properly market the site, you should be spending 10-12x what you should spend in design. So, it is possible to get a Web 2.0 website at an affordable cost. If you are a small company that is spending $4,000-$8,000 on a basic website, you should plan over 12 months to spend an additional $30,000-$80,000 on marketing. The dollars spent on marketing brings the traffic to the site. Simple rule, more traffic through the front door means more business.

Unlike other advertising, you can control your spend and measure your ROI pretty quickly. You can turn your marketing dollars on and off depending on the performance, it is all measurable.

DeFabis Photography is an example of a client that went through the redesign process. We built a Search Engine Friendly website that allows him to manage content on the site. Prior to working with us, his website was not listed in the top 100 on Google for the popular keywords. Since working with us, his visitors and page views have increased. But most important, he has doubled his bookings from this time last year. And, he did not spend $60,000 on his web design.

If you need help in evaluating a prospective vendor, here are some question that may help you understand their knowledge:

1. How do capture visitor traffic off the Internet? Can you track their movement through my site? If so, how?
2. How do manage pay per click advertising dollars to ensure I am maximizing my spend and not wasting money?
3. How do you measure whether my site is friendly to my users?
4. How many page views would you estimate my site would get to determine the right level of hosting?
5. What things will you need to change on my website? What things can I change on my own?
6. If I want to change the look, does it require changes to the backend scripting on the site?
7. What will it take to add a new page to match an ad we are running to the new site? For instance, I want to advertise a special and build a page specific for it, what will it take for us to do this?
8. What do you anticipate the average cost per lead for the website to be?
9. Who owns the source code to the site?

So, think about your objectives. Think about what you want to accomplish and spend your money according to the results you want to achieve. A pretty website just does not generate the type of results you should and can get using the Internet. Don't get mugged for $60,000. It's bad for your business.

Additional Methods of Getting Articles Without Writing

Posted by Aziz Devje Comments (0)

There are several ways to producing articles without having to write them yourself. Using a ghostwriter is one way, using private label rights articles you have bought is another option and doing an expert interview is yet a third way to compile article information.

Borrowing another writer's article for use is yet another way to provide content for readers. Give the original author credit within the body of your article and fill in the rest with quotes from that author's article.

This is a can't lose situation for everyone. You don't need to do the writing of your article, the writer who wrote the original article gets free publicity, and the reader gets the information that they want or need. Everybody wins.

Using public domain articles that are related to your subject is yet another way. Permission from the author to use their work isn't necessary, but letting your reader know where the content originated will keep their trust. Don't try to pass the words off as your own.

Use survey results from a self-conducted survey as an article. This does mean you'll have to write a little, but compiling the results and turning it into a fast article isn't very hard or time-consuming. You can create surveys through Survey Monkey at www.surveymonkey.com .

Use government provided information. Articles written by United States Government Authors are automatically in the public domain. The government is a prolific writer - on a wide variety of topics. Visit any United States Government website, and you will be greatly surprised with the amount of information that is free for the taking.

As you have seen, providing quality articles without writing a single word, or with just a bit of writing is possible. The information and means is there, use them.

eZine? The 3 Best Formats

Posted by Aziz Devje Comments (1)

eZine publishers today use any one or more of the 3 most commonly used eZine formats which I am about to describe to you in this article.

Ultimately, you can decide which format is the best choice for you, though each winning format has its pros and cons.

The text eZine is the most commonly published. The advantage of this format is that other than writing, you do not require any special skill to use a Word or Notepad program.

While the HTML eZine format requires a certain degree of HTML skills on your part, you can add more sophisticated features to your eZine issues, making them more appealing to your subscriber thus increases your readership value, something that text eZines do not have.

You can decorate your eZine format, change your fonts, include pictures, and more. However, the drawback often faced by HTML eZines is that they often get trapped into spam filters before they reach their subscribers’ inboxes.

The third and least used among the 3 formats is the PDF eZine. Publishing your eZine in PDF format can consume a lot of time and effort on your part but often make up in quality readership

Due to the commitment, PDF eZines are usually published on a monthly basis. The great part, though, is that you can put in your affiliate links in your PDF eZine issue and allow your subscribers to pass the eZine issue around.

Given the choices, however, you do not have to necessarily choose strictly one eZine format, as some eZine publishers today do publish in more than one format.

Why Publish an eZine?

Posted by Aziz Devje Comments (0)

Basically, all you need to start your own eZine are an auto responder and broadcast feature to go with, enabling you to reach out to your massive subscribers whom you can regard as your prospects, too.

In other words, you do not have to invest in expensive printing equipment, brick and mortar business, and hiring staff just to run your own newsletter publication, resulting in a lot of time, money and effort saved

In the Internet, it is very possible to make money without selling any product. One way of doing so is through starting your own eZine, also known as an electronic newsletter.

In a nutshell, you send out your eZine issues on a periodical basis to your subscribers. The good part is that you have a flexible choice in automating the process of sending out your eZine issues for you or manually sending them on a periodical basis.

As an eZine publisher, you can easily achieve the benefits a conventional newsletter publisher enjoys without having to chop down several trees in the process, you can easily and conveniently spread your marketing influence and expertise to your base of subscribers from the shoes of an ordinary individual.

All in all, if you do not have the commitments of creating your own product for sale, then publishing your own online newsletter can be one of the wisest decisions you will ever make, given the benefits of impressive marketing power and influence it can offer to you.

AmazonS3 Plugin

“You’re About To Learn Just How Easy it is To Embed Amazon S3 Hosted Videos on Your WordPress Website…”

This ‘Point & Click’ WP Plugin Makes it Super Fast and Easy to Get Your Videos to Show Up On Your Blog Pages & Posts!”

boxbinder

Dear Online Business Owner,

Have you been avoiding using video for marketing and product creation because of the lack of choices for hosting and embedding video?

It’s no surprise if you have. Many small business owners mistakenly think there are only two options: YouTube, where everything is public and you’re limited to 15 minutes, or self-hosted, where you have total control and a hefty hosting bill to match.

I’m happy to tell you, now there is a better way to use video on your WordPress site without worrying about privacy issues or bandwidth bills.

The Benefits of Video

Before we talk about HOW you can use video, let’s consider WHY you want to use video. We all know Blogging is a fantastic way to drive traffic to your site, but the truth is, not every visitor will spend the time to read your content, no matter how engaging it is. Some people simply prefer to browse sites that offer videos or other easy-to-consume content.

Of course, there are other benefits as well. For example, some types of content are just better suited for video. Long, screenshot filled articles are easier to digest when presented as short instructional videos. Opt-in rates can improve with a personal message delivered via video. And that information product you keep meaning to produce? Video is the perfect solution for a user-friendly, inviting, and easy-to-consume product.

Not only are all these formats just better suited to video than to text or even photos, video allows you to really let your creative juices flow. The free video-editing packages available today make it easier than ever to give your videos that professional look – without investing a lot of time or money. When you’re burned-out with Blogging, shooting and editing a quick video can be a great way to keep the content flowing.

But Where Do You Host Your Videos?

While posting videos on your website or blog can be good for business and a lot of fun as well, there are some serious technological hurdles you’ll need to jump before you get started, beginning with where you’ll host your videos.

arrow YouTube – Often the first thing that comes to mind, and not a bad choice if you’re just starting out, but for serious video use, you’ll need a more robust option that doesn’t limit
video length and that allows you to control where and when the video is played.
arrow Your Hosting Plan – Hosting on your own server might seem like a good idea – there’s no length or size limit, but if your video goes viral, can your host handle it?
arrow Amazon S3 – Inexpensive, scalable, and capable of handing even the biggest of traffic surges. Not even a front page story on Digg is too much for Amazon.

Here’s another little tidbit about your host, in case you’re still not convinced: That “unlimited” hosting plan is only unlimited until you go over your allotment.

When you start hosting large files like videos you’ll very likely find yourself on the wrong side of a huge hosting bill. That’s if your host doesn’t just shut your site down and ask you to take your business elsewhere. Imagine the damage to your business should that happen in the middle of a big launch.

What Does it Cost to Use Amazon S3?

Well, I did a little comparison to show you exactly what you can expect to spend when hosting video on your own server versus hosting on Amazon.

Standard storage on Amazon will cost you just $0.14 per GB, while on a popular reseller plan (remember, those unlimited plans really aren’t) that same storage will cost you $0.50 per GB.

Not only that, but the reseller plan will cap your bandwidth, so just when you get the go-ahead for a big JV partnership, you’ll find your site offline – and your account closed. And you don’t even want to think about what happens when more than two or three people are trying to watch your videos at the same time.

Much better to be prepared with a service that’s both inexpensive and powerful.

Making WordPress Work with Amazon S3

You can see that hosting videos on Amazon really is the best way to ensure your hosting bill remains reasonable and your site stays on line. But this option isn’t without its technical difficulties.

checkWordPress prefers self-hosted video – So much so that you’ll even find a handy upload link right in your post editing screen. What’s clearly lacking, unfortunately, is a way to easily embed video hosted outside your domain.

check Existing plugins are difficult to configure – If you’re not comfortable digging around in php or javascript, you may find it impossible to embed Amazon-hosted video on your WordPress blog.

check Bandwidth theft is a real issue – In order to embed Amazon-hosted video on your WordPress site, most existing plugins require you to make the video public – which allows unscrupulous webmasters to swipe your URL and embed your video on their site. They get your content, while you pay the bill.

These problems and others are what keep bloggers and small business owners from using video to increase sales, grow their readership, and build a stronger, more stable business. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Amazon S3

3 Ways To Save Money On Ezine Advertising

Posted by Aziz Devje Comments (0)

If you are one of the many internet marketers who understand just how effective ezine marketing can be then you will be happy to learn that I have three tips that will save you money on Ezine Advertising.

Ezine Advertising is still one of the top ways to advertise online because it is cheap, easy, and targeted.

If you are one of the many internet marketers who understand just how effective ezine marketing can be then you will be happy to learn that I have three tips that will save you money on Ezine Advertising.

Join The Directory of Ezines

Yes, it may seem a bit pricey up front but I have been a member for years and never regretted the money I paid -- because I made it back in savings! Not only do you get a lot of great bonuses and freebies but you will also be able to find a list of free advertising available from the ezine owners listed in the directory. Plus on top of that many of the ezine owners listed in the directory offer a discount to directory members. So if you think about the amount of money you might save over time -- the Directory of Ezines is actually a very big bargain!

Visit The Ezine Ad Auction

You will need to register to use this auction site but there is no cost involved.

At any given time there are hundreds of auctions available -- some starting at just $10. You can shop by category to more easily find your target audience and will find a range of ezines and ad formats available.

Ezine publishers put up regular offers and discounts on unsold space -- and either way you save money off their posted rates.

I regularly use Ezine Ad Auction to buy and sell ads. It is a great resource and I have developed some great, long-lasting relationships as a result.

Ask The Ezine Publisher For A Deal

Many Ezine Publishers are willing to offer special deals for either or both new advertisers or long-term advertisers. I used to have a "Test Drive Offer" for my ezines and currently offer some great discounts and free ads through my Renaissance Woman Online Ad Club.

I occasionally have advertisers contact me about a discount and if I have open space I am often willing to make a deal or at least a counter offer.

If you are a hesitant about boldly asking for a discount then simply contact the publisher to see if there are any deals available. Believe me, if they ad inventory available they will make you a deal--and it might be better deal than you would have dreamed of asking!
